I’ve been learning How to Make Copper and Why We NEED To Be Wearing It. In this blog post, I will show you how to make this jewelry and why it is important.
WHY I Started Making Copper Jewelry
I was on a mission to relieve my pregnancy swelling and pains naturally when I discovered the healing properties of copper and shungite.
Initially, I was prompted to make shungite bracelets for my husband’s trip overseas. Shungite beads help protect and shield from harmful EMFs. Shungite and copper create a wonderful blend of protection against EMFs, and inflammation, and help the body heal. According to WebMD “One animal study showed that shungite lowered inflammation in mice that were radiated with UVB rays.”
This started my healing jewelry experiment. I would wear the shungite and copper beaded bracelet on my ankle. I noticed that both my feet were still swollen, but one had more pain when walking on it than the other. Can you guess which foot had the most pain? Yep, the one without the anklet.
I can attest that the beads were working but didn’t realize yet, that the copper could be a factor as well.
What I Have Learned About Copper
While making these bracelets, I was researching how beneficial copper is. I then went down the discovery hole on electroculture and how copper rods can help with gardening. After deciding to give this a try, I learned a lot.
Here’s what I learned: copper is a conductive metal low in magnetism. Since copper is a conduit of electricity, it is a great transmitter of the earth’s energy. This is why many people can ‘ground’ without being barefoot. My Earth Runner Sandals are conductive and grounded due to the copper plug on the bottom.
Benefits of Copper
Copper is an important mineral needed in the body as well, “It helps your body make red blood cells and keeps nerve cells and your immune system healthy.
It also helps form collagen, a key part of bones and connective tissue. Copper may also act as an antioxidant, reducing free radicals that can damage cells and DNA.” –Mt. Sinai.org
Wearing copper has these benefits:
- Reducing stress
- Slowing down the aging process
- Promoting the production of melanin
- Detoxifying the body
- Boosting energy
The Sacred Spiral
Coiled copper is especially wonderful displaying the life force element of the spiral. Seen almost everywhere in nature as the “seal of God”.
“Curves of this type can be found in an extraordinarily diverse number of places: the coiled tails of the chameleon and the seahorse, the spiral of a whirlwind seen from space, the unfolding fiddlehead of a new fern leaf, the cross section of a nautilus or a fossil ammonite, the tail feathers of a lyrebird, the twisting crowns of trees in a eucalypt forest, the pearlescent architecture inside the abalone of the paua, the spiral mark on the ‘door’ of a cat’s eye shell, the curl of a ram’s horn shell and even the ringed horns of a the mouflon ram after which the shell is named.1”
"Ask the beasts and they will teach you, the birds of the heavens, and they will teach you, or the bushes of the earth and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare it to you." Job 12:7-8
Pros of Copper Jewelry
I have been having a fun time, expressing creativity in coiling copper and linking bracelets, rings, and anklets. It is rewarding to design a malleable precious metal into an art form you can wear!
Wearing the copper jewelry makes me feel elegant and good, knowing I am receiving all the healing benefits.
The results of my experiment are still in progress but I can report that the hand that wears my copper ring, was less swollen and painful this morning when I woke up than the hand without the ring.
Cons of Copper Jewelry
The Con of copper jewelry is that it can be fake copper!
While learning and discovering about copper, I wanted to make sure the wire I bought from Amazon was the real deal. So I tested it to find out. I used the magnet test: because copper is low in magnetism, it should not stick to the magnet.
The copper wire I bought from Amazon was real and passed the test. However, the wire I bought from the local bead shop was not 100% copper. It was magnetic and stuck to the magnet.
This led me to test the beads and my copper/magnet ring. Thankfully, they passed the test. I can rest assured that I am not just experiencing a placebo.
The other Con is that wearing the copper all day and night can leave a little green residue on the skin.
I always think of the Statue of Liberty when the copper starts to oxidize like this. It is normal but know there will be a green mark left over.
What You Will Need To Make Copper Jewelry
- 100% real copper wire
- 100% copper beads
- Shungite beads
- Wire cutters
- Pliers
- Step 1: Cut the wire to the desired length
- Step 2: Make your design with the pliers
- Step 3: Measure the wire on your wrist, finger, ankle etc.
- Step 4: Make the wire loop and secure
- Step 5: Enjoy wearing your design!

Very interesting article! I love your curiosity!!
Recently my husband purchased a copper bracelet for me thinking that it would help me. I didn’t notice anything positive or negative, so I wore it to my appointment with my Naturopath. She tested it energetically and then on me. Funny thing… she said to wear it if I like it, but it’s neutral energetically. I rarely wear it now, because the point was to help me.
Fast forward several months after I completed a hair-testing mineral analysis. The results were that my copper was a very tiny bit higher than whatever the “normal” number is.
After reading your article, it makes me wonder if you know if your copper is low? That would be interesting.
Love your copper creations. Did Arun feel better for wearing the bracelet on his travels?
Also, have you eliminated sugar from your diet to see if that helps with the pain and swelling? And what about wheat… even if soaked, etc., you might try that. Those have both been big ones for me.
Best wishes for good health and a happy safe delivery!!

Hi Diane! Thank you for sharing, I would say I get a good amount of copper internally from oysters and beef liver. I haven’t tested my levels yet though. The swelling and joint pain has gone down tremendously for me; this could be because I got a chiropractic adjustment, the heat wave has passed and/or wearing the copper.
I will have to ask Arun if he noticed a difference. His bracelet was more shungite than copper!
We have been balancing our blood sugar and boosting our metabolism with sugar/glucose. Arun mentions the bioenergetic reasons why in his courses and emails ๐ I love baking with organic flour and sugar and haven’t noticed inflammation from that necessarily. I think my swelling is pregnancy related.
Thank you for the best wishes! Sending you peace and health!
