Is there anything more satisfying in the kitchen than sliding the peel off of a hard-boiled egg? The worst thing one can spend their time on is peeling hard-boiled eggs piece by piece. It is so annoying.
I discovered this trick when I accidentally cracked an egg before boiling it. Turns out, this was the only egg that was easy to peel haha.
A happy mistake that I am now able to share with you. Hopefully, it saves you time and energy so you can boil eggs with ease!

*Quick tip for Farm-Fresh Eggs that have not been washed, you will want to wash them with warm water, not cold! The cold water will allow bacteria to penetrate the pores and get in your eggs but the warm water will wash the egg from dirt or debris. Eggs naturally have a protective coating called a ‘bloom’ or ‘cuticle’ to keep the bacteria from seeping into the egg.
- Step 1: Slightly crack your egg. *It needs to be a slight crack that breaks will open the inner membrane
- Step 2: Place the eggs in room temp water
- Step 3: As the water starts to boil, let the eggs boil for 5 min or more depending on how well done you like your hard-boiled eggs
- Step 4: Once finished boiling, place the eggs in ice water and cool
- Step 5: Easily peel your eggs!

Pickled Egg Recipe
These hard-boiled eggs are pickled for preservation. They are tangy and delicious & will last you for up to three months! These make for a perfect mid-day snack, packed with flavorful protein.
Ingredients
- 12 hard-boiled eggs
- 4 cups vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or fresh garlic
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon pickling spices
- Herbs of your choice
Instructions
- Hard-boil a dozen eggs with the tips mentioned above
- Peel the hard-boiled eggs with ease
- In a saucepan, boil the vinegar and the rest of the ingredients together to make the brine
- Place the hard-boiled eggs in a clean half-gallon jar
- Pour the brine over the eggs and seal the jar with a lid
- Place in the refrigerator
Notes
These pickled eggs will be ready and full of flavor after three days.
Once the lid is open, they will last for three months.
